The owner of Roxy & Gus Pet Care.
I look after dogs, cats and small pets around Derby, always in their own home, while you’re at work or away. I provide overnight sitting, drop ins and dog walking.
A little about me
After a major career change in 2025, I finally had the perfect opportunity to do something I’d always quietly wanted to, which was build a life around animals.
I started taking on pet care properly in September 2025, and I genuinely can’t imagine doing anything else now. Roxy & Gus Pet Care was born out of the desire to provide exactly the kind of care I’d want for my own pets.
The inspiration behind Roxy & Gus: Two very special Staffies
Roxy was my shadow for fourteen years. She passed away last year, and I still feel the gap she left. She taught me so much about dogs and being a dog owner, and she’s the whole reason I understand what it really takes to hand your best friend over to someone new and trust them completely.
Then came Gus, our Staffy puppy. He is a tiny whirlwind! Having a puppy in the house again keeps me on my toes, and provides a daily reminder of how busy life can get with your pet.
How it works
It starts with a free meet and greet. I come to you, learn about your pet’s routine and quirks, and you can ask me absolutely anything. There’s no obligation to book.
Following each visit, I’ll send a photo or a little video and a quick note on how they’ve been, so you’re never sat there wondering how they’re getting on while you’re away. For longer stays, I’ll update you as much or as little as you prefer.
You’re in safe hands – I am:
- Fully insured with public liability cover
- DBS checked
- Canine first aid trained.
I cover Chellaston, Shelton Lock, Allenton, Swarkestone, Boulton Moor and the bits in between. I also travel a bit further afield for longer overnight house sitting. Not sure if I cover your area? Get in touch and I’ll be happy to let you know.
